Happy February----Love is in the Air!

Just wanted to pop in to say hello and that I hope everyone has a fabulous February!  Valentine's Day is fast approaching...such a fun holiday for both kiddos and others with sweethearts.  I'm blessed to have three Valentines to share the holiday with...one of which is my littlest, my big-time fashionista and I believe girliest of two very girly girls, Miss Kate:

Downloadable forms, Facebook Business Page, Etc.

Revamed new patient forms that are downloadable from the official website, AND please "Like" us on Facebook ("Dentistry Exclusively by Dr. Waneta Chenault") to get the latest and greatest news and info, including promos, how you can help with our giving back to the community, etc.!

Hmmm.....haven't decided what color my hair will be next!  It's highlighted a chunky crimson red with a soft black base color....I think I'm going to go to a royal blue chunky!  Royal blue has always been one of my favorite colors.  It's just hair, right?

Happy New Year 2012!

I've been sooooooo busy!  Missed sending out Christmas cards for the third year in a row...boo me!    We've been working very hard at streamlining things at the office and updating is always a constant, so thank you to our wonderful patients (and patients-to-be) as we go through these changes to keep up with offering our best to you!

Here Kate and I are blowing everyone out there a happy new year kiss!  Our wish for you is that 2012 brings good health, stability, and many happy memories to you and yours!  Will blog more soon, I promise!  I have lots of fun pictures to share with you.

Scarborough Faire 2011

Getting late and I need to get started watching my movie...just wanted to post a couple of pics from mine and my daughters' first time to Scarborough Faire this summer:

     With my Kate....

     ...and with my Lisa!

The weather was gorgeous (luckily, we went before we hit the summer heat), the turkey legs and funnel cakes yummy, and the girls had so much fun on all the rides!  Ending the evening with a sterling silver ring with a jewel and a silver charm on a black silk necklace for each darling in a horse-drawn carriage with their parents made for a perfect day!

Summer is drawing to a close...

Tomorrow my baby girl starts wearing a uniform to pre-K2 and my big girl starts 2nd grade---how time has flown right by!  It's time to get back into the swing of the school weekly routine; I don't think it will be hard, actually (or at least I'm hoping it won't be).

We didn't get to visit the beach this summer as planned since Kate was in an arm cast for 12 weeks.  Maybe the beach will be beckoning in September...

And why is there no such thing as a permanent hair dye?  It fades!  At least it fades to a nice color, but still!  Seems if they can make permanent blacks and browns, they could make permanent purple....time to visit my salon stylist soon to revive my violet locks!

I've taken a bit of a reprieve from playing Warcraft online this summer---too much to do with too little time.  I've found as the years go by, sleep has become a precious commodity!

Oh WOW...I discovered "The Tudors" just a couple of weeks ago!  It was a series on Showtime than ran for four seasons (April 2007-June 2010) featuring Jonathan Rhys Meyers as King Henry VIII (but startling handsome with a svelte figure throughout the series, unlike the Henry VIII that was depicted in historical paintings).  I was literally addicted, staying up past 3 a.m. on several occasions throughout the weekend watching all 38 episodes!  The show had excellent acting, and just the right amount of thrill, action, romance, and sensuality to keep viewers intrigued throughout the series.  I highly recommend it if you haven't seen it yet!  (Now I'm a HUGE Rhys Meyers fan...going to look out for upcoming films or series in which he'll be starring.)

I'm looking forward to expanding my office, making new friends along the way, and yes, excercising and taking care of myself for the first time in eons...lots and lots of walking/biking when the weather drops down below the 100s!

Much needed family time

Been working very late (to me, it's very late when I'm up at  the office for 12 hour days), but I had to carve out some time to see my hair dresser and to take our girls to the new Sea Life Aquarium!

My new-and-even-more-vibrant purple!

I am really enjoying being "different"....I mean....how many dentists do you know that has the brashness to highlight her hair with violet??!  I thought so!

Sea Life Aquarium photos coming soon!

Tomorrow we are all going to a big (kinda) local peach farm (yum!) and will stock up on peach peserves gifts, cobblers, and of course peach ice cream!  Scott and I are going to go out on a double with some friends to the Fork & Screen movies that have opened nearby.  Good (but busy times)!

Texas Bluebonnets

Posting pictures here and there of the beautiful Texas bluebonnets that my family enjoyed this year:

I just have to say: I love my practice crew and my patients!!!

Today was a rare day for our office to be open on a Saturday.  Most would say "Ewww, sorry you had to work on a Saturday," but my feelings couldn't be more the contrary!

How wonderful do I feel that a husband and his wife who are very busy parents of four children drive 118 miles from their home to have us take care of their teeth?!!  That's driving FIVE hours roundtrip for their dental visits!  Leaves me speechless, but with warm fuzzies...LOL!    The Mrs. asked me if I could take care of ALL her treatment in one visit (due to the distance), and I was more than happy to see her today to make it happen!  Not to mention---how wonderful do I feel to have an amazing hygienist and assistant who didn't bat an eye at coming in on a Saturday to take care of these great folks?

Susan and Toi...you are THE BEST...you both are rare treasures, and I am so very lucky that you share the same passion and love that I have to do our best for our precious patients!  THANK YOU!!!  (Doin' the happy dance for y'all!)

Sacrifices, God's blessings and His glory...

I just wanted to praise God for being my absolute saviour---over the last few years, I have been reminded (the hard way) that I must always, always remember to turn to Him for guidance, for peace, and for strength, and it is though Him that ALL things are possible!

Thank you also to my beloved husband, my family, and my true-blue friends...you have all provided me with a tremendous amount of support and love, and for that I am eternally grateful!  I can only hope that I will have the same opportunity in the future to be that beacon of light for others when they are in need.

My trip to Memphis, TN

OK...as promised, here are some photos of my highlights to Memphis, Tennessee:

Scott and I arrived in Memphis at midnight...I snapped this photo once we crossed the Mississippi River!

We watched the Peabody duck procession from their sleeping quarters to the lobby fountain in the morning, and the procession to the elevator and back up to their quarters in the evening.  Here's an interesting link that describes the history of the Peabody ducks.

The gorgeous lobby from up above...The Peabody is an amazing historical hotel rich with dozens of vintage photos on display as well as a piano that was custom-built in 1838 for Francis Scott Key, the author of America's beloved "The Star-Spangled Banner"!

Of course, we had to tour Beale Street!  Though I'm not a big blues fan, I very much enjoyed strolling though the quirky shops and bars.  The delicious fried green tomatoes at Miss Polly's reminded me of my first time eating this Southern favorite at my Aunt Mary's.  We ended our evening eating divine bread pudding at B.B. King's and had a grand time grooving to the engaging live band music.

A trip to Memphis wouldn't be right without diving into the amazing barbeque!  Corky's was recommended by my friend, Shelbi, and I certainly agreed with Corky's well-deserved reputation for awesome ribs.    I can't wait to try some other renowned barbeque restaurants on my trip back to Memphis!

We have many more places on the agenda to visit on our next trip to Memphis---I can't wait!!!
